Birds, Banana Bread, and Haiku

This morning instead of throwing my black bananas into the compost I decided to mix up some homemade bread. It’s in the oven baking and boy does it smell good!  Both puppies, Neo, and Bella, are having a nap. Yesterday we got a foot of fluffy light snow. This morning all the pine trees are heavily glazed in powdered sugar puff. My bird feeders are hopping with happy chickadees, finches, and one cat sized determined grey squirrel. Susan, of susanwritesprecise.com has been playing with Haiku. She inspired me to play along. Although I know some of the rules of this wonderful form, I have opted to break a few. I hope no one minds. Here goes:

Spring

Through winter’s dead litter

Forsythia burst

Resurrected earth

Summer

Pinata bombs burst

Hot glitter rain

America the brave?

Fall

Autumnal equinox

Velvet antlered stag

Midlife crisis corvette

Winter

Lace doily snowflakes fall

The night grandma died

She was crocheting
